Little Girl Gone is the debut novel of Alexandra Burt and has been hailed as “impossible to put down” by Award winning author, Meg Gardiner and as a "thrilling, nail-shredding page-turner that fans of ‘Gone Girl’ and ‘Before I Go to Sleep’ won’t be able to put down".

I'm a big fan of Douglas Kennedy for unputdownable. I read "The Heat of the Moment" on holiday this year, and basically had to ignore my family for a day or two to finish it.

Ooh Dippy, I picked up The Little House in a charity shop this week and have packed it for my short break away this week. Looking forward to getting stuck in now...

Susangilley7 · 28/10/2015 12:51

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. I am reading it at present and it is keeping me guessing. A real page turner.

Theimpossiblegirl · 28/10/2015 18:47

I'm in Prague. It was great! Such a page turner I read it too fast and have had to swap it in the hotel. Smile

The Ghost of Lilly Painter by Caitlin Davis. I read this book 3 years ago and still haven't enjoyed a book as much since I always go back to this on Amazon to see what other books are similar ! It's a dark thriller. Supernatural/ detective and just you must read !!!!!! So brilliant ! Recommend recommend !

Agree with 'the secret history'. I found 'girl on the train' a page turner which gripped me as I did 'I let you go'.

Into the darkest corner

ThingWithFeathers · 24/11/2015 17:42

Life Or Death by Michael Robotham.

Thecatisatwat · 01/12/2015 13:09

Derailed by James Siegel. Never want to read it again though because of the rape scene (and the film is shit - Clive Owen and Jennifer Anistan are so badly cast and the film is too short to do the book justice).

EverybodyHatesATourist · 02/12/2015 18:45

I've just finished The Ice Twins by S K Tremayne. One of those books where you cannot predict what is going to happen, atmospheric and chilling.

Susangilley7 · 07/12/2015 09:11

I just loved Girl on the Train. A real page turner

Did anybody win the prize for taking part on the thread?

cressetmama · 17/12/2015 16:39

Good thread, I am making notes! To second some PPs, I've liked all the Douglas Kennedy books (except the Woman in the Fifth) and I still like Dick Francis who was in his heyday a wonderfully economical writer. Someone once wrote (IIRC it was Julie Burchill) that Dick Francis excites people who live quiet lives and soothes those who live adrenaline-filled ones. Now, I find them soothing when I wake in the night!

Clawdy · 17/12/2015 18:15

Hygge I was wondering the same thing!

Anj123 · 29/02/2016 17:15

I received a copy of this book today in the post but it had no note with it and I have received no email saying I was going to get it, so don't know if it was via this giveaway or somewhere else! As the giveaway took place 5 months ago I'm guessing somewhere else?! Anyway, I am looking forward to reading it!

Hygge · 29/02/2016 17:24

I still don't know if anybody won Clawdy, but the thread popping up again has reminded me to check if the new Paula Daly book is out yet Grin

Susangilley7 · 01/03/2016 08:57

Just received my copy. Look forward to reading this book. Thank you so much. Will post my review soon

I Let You Go
by Clare Mackintosh

is the book that would get my 'unputdownable' vote.
It had me gripped right from the outset, and had the most amazing, unexpected plot twist!

Susangilley7 · 05/04/2016 09:31

Just started reading Little Girl Gone by Alexandra Burt. It is intriguing. This will be a good one!

Pixie89 · 20/04/2016 09:36

What to exspect when you are exspecting
...totally gripping, terrorfying and brought me out in a sweat.!

Jokes aside gone girl for me...loved it...gripped every page

bigtapdancingpimp · 20/04/2016 23:38

The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson.

I'm halfway through it and keep squealing in excitement with every page. It's going to be one of those books that I want to finish but will be gutted when I do.

And also making me wonder what I'd be capable of...... Wink
