What's next? Someone kindly posted a suggested reading order a while ago but I've lost it (sorry)

The witches, of course.

reading order

CMOTDibbler · 09/08/2015 18:46

Def the Witches. Oh, to have all the TPs ahead of me still

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 09/08/2015 19:11

Another vote for the witches!

basildonbond · 09/08/2015 20:20

Thanks :)

Equal Rites here I come!

Equal Rites is quite different from the rest of the Witches series - almost an alternate world version of Granny, so you might prefer to start with Wyrd Sisters

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 09/08/2015 21:26

That's true. Equal Rights is quite different. Maybe read the others first and then go back to it.

I'm not sure if it counts as a witches book because wizards are in it too, but Lords and Ladies is my favourite one that features the witches. The morris dancers are hilarious.

noblegiraffe · 09/08/2015 21:28

I didn't like the witch novels so much, certainly not the early ones.

I'd vote for the Death ones, starting with Mort.

VivaLeBeaver · 09/08/2015 21:30

I'd say the Death ones starting with Mort as well.

GladysTheGolem · 09/08/2015 21:34

someone mentioned Discworld!
I wasn't a fan of the earlier Witches either, but enjoy them all

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 09/08/2015 22:00

Carpe Jugulam is one of my favourites. That and Maskerade.

I love Going Postal too, I remember laughing and laughing the first time I read it.

Becles · 09/08/2015 22:04

Sexual morrisment???????????????? (Lords and Ladies)????????????????????????????

RatOnnaStick · 09/08/2015 22:30

My favourite witches novel is Witches Abroad just for the general bickering that goes on all the way through. Greebo comes out quite well too.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 09/08/2015 22:33

Equal Rites was my introduction to the Discworld. It was a great first date :)

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 09/08/2015 22:46

When I grow up I want to be Nanny Ogg. There, I said it.

Fluffy24 · 09/08/2015 22:47

I second Witches Abroad!

RatOnnaStick · 09/08/2015 22:53

Equal Rites has a very empowered female lead. I think Tiffany Aching has roots in Eskarina. Its actually a very good story and well worth reading. Its probably not necessary to have read it to understand pretty much any other book though.

I'd be Nanny Ogg too. Definitely not one of her daughters-in-law though. Too much hosuework.

pointythings · 16/08/2015 16:06

Definitely witches. I'd leave the Industrial Revolution trilogy (Moist von Lipwig) till last.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 24/08/2015 13:28

Which are the stand alone ones? Pyramids, Interesting Times?

mrsmortis · 24/08/2015 15:15

And don't forget that there's a new (and the last ever :'-( ) Tiffany Aching book out this week.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 27/08/2015 04:55

I just posted a thread about the new one - it has massive spoiler though, so all hurry up and read it and come and join me - I won't give anything away here but HURRY Grin
I need to talk about it! (AND I'm only up to chapter 3 Grin - it's THAT much "need to discuss"!)

LumpySpacedPrincess · 27/08/2015 09:46

Just downloaded on kindle, exited, and sad. Sad

start at the beginning and work through chronologically, like we had to...
