I'm so excited to receive a copy of this book. I absolutely adored 'The Sky is Everywhere' so I can't wait to read this new book. I will post a review when read. Thank you so much for the free copy. Smile

Thank you for the book! I've been on a young adult fiction binge recently so this is perfect timing. Really looking forward to reading it and hearing what others think.

Thanks for sending us this book. My daughter and I really enjoyed it. Loved the writing and the character development. We liked how each chapter was told from a different characters perspective. It takes a wonderful look at the ups and downs that being a twin can be. It shows the different ways different people deal with what life throws them in a very personal way. Recommended.

Thank you for this book. I have to admit that I struggled with the writing style of this book at the start and I even contemplated giving up. However I am really glad that I persevered as it is a wonderful story of love and loss. It was also really fascinating understanding the different lives and emotions of twins. Overall a great read for all ages, not just young adults and thoroughly recommended. Smile

Daft comment but I really liked the yellow colour, made it easier to find in my 'mum bag'. Its more of a teen read, but it was very moving and funny. Made me think about what I have in store for the future when my little ones grow up, now painful the world can be. I have not read her first book, but I would consider it now.

This is a great book, like someone else said I struggled to start with, I read a few chapters then had a week away but then once I got back into it I couldn't stop reading. I'm not sure I would recommend it to my young adult dd but maybe i'm just being a prude about some of the references in the book!

My 14 yr old daughter read the book. This is her review. " I think the book started off quite slow but as I got into the book, the book got more interesting. The storyline is good and I was intrigued throughout the whole book. I liked how the story was told in two points of views from the two twins, Noah and Jude."

I've just finished the book. I largely enjoyed it and I appreciated the way it was presented- the yellow- edged paper and the illustrations fit in well with the art subplot. I've been reading a lot of YA/ teen fiction recently and have discovered some beautifully written fiction that deals with very serious subjects. This book tackled some very serious subjects and while I found it very engaging I thought it would have been more powerful if it had focussed on one or two 'big issues' rather than covering identity, sexuality, infidelity, death and bereavement, and sibling and parental relationships, as well as touching on drug addiction and alcoholism and gifted children.

That said I did like the book and I liked the characters, particularly Jude and Noah. I will look out for her other book.

I loved the presentation of this book but am yet to read it as it has been stolen by my teen. She says of you like John Green you will love I'll Give You the Sun, it's a great story with interesting characters and she'll be finished soon.
:)

I loved this book, thanks for sending it to me. It was really easy to read and different from any other kind of book I have read before. I will hand over to dd ASAP!

This was a wonderful read. The dual narrative was fascinating and I found the imagery made it really beautiful. The writer seems to really understand the teenage mind and the ideas about art that runs through the plot makes it rather special. It is being avidly read by some of my Year 10 pupils now but I think it is a crossover text. I like the slow uncovering of the tragedy and the way the characters respond to guilt and fear. The relationship between the twins is especially touching, but I also loved the other connections in the novel.
I absolutely agree about the odd opening. It was a little slow and tricky to work out what was going on, but I liked Noah's voice enough to persevere. I also think it says some important things about sexuality and consent.

The writing was superb! I loved it! It reminded me of my teenage years and how my kids will be in a few years time. The way the story was going back and forward was spot on. Will def recommend to all my friends!

Theimpossiblegirl · 21/08/2015 21:44

I finally got to read this and oh my goodness it was wonderful! Beautifully written, the imagery was some of the best I have come across. It's one of those books that stays with you long after you've read it. Highly recommended.

The characters were very well written and a combination of dual narrative and moving from past to present made it such a page-turner. Definitely not just for teens (also not for very young teens for different reasons).

I've just ordered her other book- The Sky is Everywhere and am hoping for more of the same.
