I wanted an easy to read page turner
It got good reviews
It was the biggest load of crap I have read in a long time
Too far fetched and a terrible ending
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good page turner

At least I didn't buy it. Got it from the library.

I understand about marketing obviously but although I hadn't researched this, (eg straw poll among friends, amazon reviews, MN reviews), I had the general impression it was great. So just picked it up when I was in the library.

Was quite surprised when it turned out to be poor.

I liked it.

I also liked that I disliked every single character in it. Usually I'd not get on with a book where I didn't like the main character, or at least someone, but it worked well this time I thought.

I like the Goldfinch and Appletree Yard was OK.

Don't think I will be with GOAT and GG now. Just read All Fall Down and was

disappointed...especially with the ending, the Author seemed to have just got bored and stopped writing. Lemon Grove, unbelievably selfish, horrible character.

Dying for a good read so will be watching this thread.

Loved Goldfinch.
Have not really found anything I'd recommend recently though. Might try Appletree Yard as that has had several mentions.
