Crime/thriller books?

I just finished reading Gone Girl. Not my usual sort of thing at all, but really, really liked it. Finished it in four days.

I'm having 3 teeth out not shitting myself at all I promise next week and was browsing the tiny Morrisons book section. I came out with Camilla Lackberg - Buried Angels & Erica Spindler - Don't Look Back.

Anyone read anything by them? Am I going to be sorely disappointed or pleasantly surprised?

I've read Breakneck by Erica Spindler. Never heard of her until this book caught my eye at the library. I love crime and thrillers, and Breakneck certainly ticked all the right boxes for me.
I've never read any Camilla Lackberg so can't help you there I'm afraid.

I've read all of Camilla Lackberg's book and I love them. Just finished Buried Angels and I thought it was very gripping.

I've read both Gone Girl and Don't Look Back. They're both great, but I actually preferred Don't Look Back.

I've read a couple of Camilla Lackberg's but they're not my favourites. I like anything by Karin Fossum, one of her books is also called 'Don't Look Back' -- is this the one you all meant above?

I've read a huge selection of crime, different genres by several different authors they're all so different but I've enjoyed everything from scandi (Mankell, Martin Beck series, Hakan Nesser, Stieg Larson, Jo Nesbo etc.) to historical (Mark Sanderson, William Ryan, CJ Sansom, Julian Barnes' Arthur & George, John Banville, Jed Rubenfeld), spy (John Le Carre, Joseph Kanon, William Boyd's Restless, William Boyd's Ordinary Thunderstorms) and international crime writers thoroughly enjoyed White Tiger by Aravind Adiga. I couldn't choose one that I love above all the others.

Not strictly classed as Crime Fiction but I really love the entire Jackson Brodie series. I see them as intelligent, humane Detective fiction with humour.

I watched Gone Girl last weekend and really enjoyed it. Will check out Erica Spindler and Don't Look Back, if it's not by Karin Fossum.

Have you tried Arnaldur Indridason (an Icelandic writer)? I loved every one of his Erlendur detective novels, especially the second and the ninth ones.

What about the Jack Reacher books?

C j sansom's shardlake series. They're set in Tudor times but still crime solving and law

Loved Tideline - Penny Hancock. In general I like books set in London and surrounding areas...

Black is the Colour - Helen Howe also very good.

Someone Else's Skin by Sarah Hilary is fab - read it a couple of weeks ago in little more than a day, a real page-turner!

I'm also a massive fan of Mark Billingham, and if you haven't read her, Tana French is great too.

KatriKling - agree about Kate Atkinson's Jackson Brodie books, they're just brilliant. In fact, she's just brilliant.
