I think I've just bought one- Clara’s Daughter, Meike Ziervogel.
I've just sat down to read it and will report back.

Paula Daly- what kind of mother are you?
Second Sophie Hannah - earlier books are better.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 05/10/2014 07:54

The Play Date

Killing cupid-by the magpies author
Into the darkest corner

DuchessofMalfi · 05/10/2014 08:18

Alys, Always and Her, both by Harriet Lane. Excellent reads, well written and quietly disturbing.

tripfiction · 05/10/2014 14:08

Alys Always is great!

You might like:
Just What Kind of Mother are You? by Paula Daly (Cumbria)
Baptism - Max Kinnings (London/Snowdonia)
No Escape - N J cooper (Isle of Wight)
Tarnished by Julia Crouch (Whitstable)

Hope you find something that fits the bill!

goldengoddess · 05/10/2014 14:15

Just read a couple of books by Tamara Cohen, very good.

whatwoulddexterdo · 07/10/2014 21:23

Try who are You by Elizabeth forbes, its what I am reading now, very very good.

DuchessofMalfi · 07/10/2014 21:35

My next read will be The Silent Wife by A S A Harrison. Looks interesting. Will post thoughts when finished.

JabberJabberJay · 07/10/2014 21:38

Sophie Hannah definately. Her earlier books are better. Try Little Face or Hurting Distance.

Clawdy · 08/10/2014 12:11

"Daughter" by Jane Shemilt is excellent. Also "The Burning Air" by Erin Kelly.

TsukuruTazaki · 11/10/2014 00:49

The husbands secret, liane moriarty

KurriKurri · 11/10/2014 17:09

The Replacement- Patrick Redmond
Wicked Girls- Alex Marwood
The Guilty One -Lisa Ballantyne (perhaps not quite a domestic thriller, but I enjoyed it and the one's you've mentioned, so it might be your cup of tea)

I second the Paula Daly - What kind of Mother are you?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/10/2014 14:23

Oh yes, the Guilty One was bloody fab as was Wicked Girls.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/10/2014 15:12

Weirdly I read Little Face and hated it so much it's put me off ever reading anything by Sophie Hannah againGrin

IsabellaofFrance · 12/10/2014 20:51

Daughter by Jane Shemilt is very good.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/10/2014 20:54

Glad to hear Daughter is good,I downloaded it last weekSmile

IsabellaofFrance · 12/10/2014 21:01

Sea Sisters too, and The Shadow Year.

Loved both of those.

DuchessofMalfi · 12/10/2014 21:27

I finished reading The Silent Wife by A S A Harrison. Don't think it works as a thriller, but is still an interesting read.

Shouldn't have been marketed as appealing to fans of Gone Girl because it really has no similarity.

Cheesymonster · 13/10/2014 11:38

What have I done? by Amanda Prowse.

Apple trey yard.

Cheesymonster · 13/10/2014 11:38

Tree, sorry!
