I downloaded this when it was cheap on kindle, and read it during a recent hospital stay (not sure that is relevant but I was a bit drugged up when I read it! )

I'm not sure what I made of it - it was very readably written, and I quite enjoyed the setting. I found parts of it haunting and memorable, but overall the ending left me feeling unsatisfied and slightly cheated. (And it didn't really hang together plausibly for me - the reasoning behind the catastrophic event wasn't credible for me)

I think I would have loved it when I was a teenager - I am guessing it is aimed at young adults, and it captures a lot of the angst of the teenage years - maybe its one you have to read at the right age?

Have passed it on to my 20 something DD for her views !

I loved We Were Liars - in a light quick read kind of way. It is definitely supposed to be aimed at young adults, so I guess I read it with that in mind. If I was 15 it would be my favourite book ever. As it is I am sadly 38, but I still really enjoyed it!

I enjoyed it too - read it on holiday.

Have noticed ASDA has stocked it on the YA bookshelf, but still think it a poignant. but quick read suitable for us grown ups too Grin

It was recommended to me by a friend. I really didn't get all the fuss. It was good but it wasn't a keep me up all night page turner. Just an easy, decent read.

My last fab read was the husband's secret.

I agree, I bought it during the kindle summer sale for pennies. While reading it I did think if I was a teenager I would have LOVED this book.

I liked it. I do think I would have loved it when i was a teenager though. I guessed the twist quite quickly, but still a page turner for me.

This was one of my holiday reads and I thoroughly enjoyed it - definitely a page turner. I'm 46 and read lots of different things. This is a perfect holiday read or one for those who don't get much spare time to read. Quick, engaging, well written and I thought the closing chapters were beautiful. I had sort of guessed the plot but ignored it as I enjoyed it so much.

mammamic - I agree it's an ideal holiday (or in my case hospital)read - its very 'readable', and quick, I have a bad habit of over analysing (too many book groups!) and actually I think this needs to be enjoyed for what it is, the protagonist is a very accessible character - I would really have identified with her as a teenager.

I'd certainly recommend the book to others, definitely one of my better kindle sale purchases.

I was just a bit "meh" about it. Don't get the love, sorry!
