Oh dear.....v overrated IMO. Did I miss something?

I read it last year. It was ok. Perhaps a bit dated now and was likely shocking at the time but with so much revealed all the time, not much new here.

Very disappointed with this one. Hated the fairytale stuff and it dragged the book down.

But I did love Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal and I mean love. That was a better retelling of her early life, and a more honest one.

Oh I loved it but at the time it was shocking.

I really enjoyed this at the time (I read it when it came out). Don't know what I'd think now, but at the time I thought it was clever and funny and touching, which are all qualities I like in a book. She was only 24 when it was published, which makes it even more remarkable.

Speed read it in 2 hours before a final exam at Uni. Loved it. I think she is a very good writer. I had always assumed it was autobiographical and was interested to find in recent years that it was only partly, i.e. she made a lot of it up. Still, I think she conveyed the essence of her utterly challenging childhood.

'Why be happy when you can be normal' is much much better and definitely worth a read
