I bought the Tudor box set today. The question is, should I read them in the order that they were written or randomly or in historical order?

I am looking forward to them.

Not sure which books are in this set. But I'd read them in historical order.

StrangeGlue · 18/05/2014 21:31

On her website she lists it two ways - historical timeline and the order in which she wrote them. I followed the former.

Thanks. It is The Other Boleyn Girl, The Boleyn Inheritance and the one about Catherine of Aragon.

Great Writer love every single one of her books except Alice Hartley's Happiness (which was positively pathetic) - My personal favourites are The Queens Fool and A respectable Trade.

Wideacre made me feel a bit sick. I've generally thoroughly enjoyed her other books though.

I read the Tudor books in order she wrote them, but that's because I read them all fairly soon after release, so had no other choice Grin

It makes sense to read The Constant Princess (Catherine of Aragon ) first, then The Other Boleyn Girl, then The Boleyn Inheritance. In chronological order has to be the best way IMO.

coffeeandcream · 01/06/2014 12:57

What highlandcoo said.

The Plantagenet ones are also great, I just finished the White Princess.

Her next book The King's Curse is out in August I think.

MollyGetsHerWandOut · 01/06/2014 13:01

Who is the Kings curse about?

ZenNudist · 01/06/2014 13:05

I've read them in historical order. Really enjoy her books and historical fiction generally.

coffeeandcream · 01/06/2014 13:14

The kings curse is about Lady Margaret Pole, who was the oldest woman Henry VIII had executed for treason. She was in her 60s and was a Yorkist by birth. Am fairly sure she was one if Katherine of Aragons closet friends

MollyGetsHerWandOut · 01/06/2014 13:20

I know Margaret Pole, she appeared in the White Princess was it? Her Grandfather was the Kingmaker, and uncle Richard III, and in the Tv programme The Tudors.

coffeeandcream · 01/06/2014 18:43

Yes, she was cousin to Henry VIIIs mother, daughter of George duke of York and granddaughter if the Kingmaker.

Trills · 01/06/2014 18:48

The Constant Princess is one of my favourites.
