If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things So Many Ways to Begin

The latter is longlisted for this year's Booker prize, and I am having to time-ration my readings of it or I would devour it in one go and not read it properly (which would be a waste). The former is a jewel too.

For appreciators of precision and economy and clarity and characters you care about. (I've done a search and he doesn't come up on here before, so he needs a plug, save that he's only about 21 which is unforgiveable.)

thanks Bink - I was just thinking I wanted a 'new' author to read and was considering which of the Booker longlist to try.

I started If Nobody Speaks... but couldn't get into it. It maybe wasn't the right time. I was in the middle of changing jobs and was quite stressed. On your recommendation, I shall try it again. (Once I've finished the big pile of books by my bed )

I loved "If Nobody Speaks..". It's a beautifully written book, almost poetic in parts. I didn't know he had a new one up for the Booker. I will have to read it.

I haven't read his second one but thought "If nobody speaks...." was excellent. Have given it as a present to a couple of people.
