Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot?

I've not really read much detective fiction, but have recently been given a handful of Agatha Christie books.

I'll try them all eventually, but who do you prefer?

I like both, but I think I prefer Miss Marple - old Hercule can be a bit irritating sometimes! Grin

Miss Marple! She's awesome.

SarahAndFuck · 25/03/2014 12:34

I like both but Hercule is my favourite.

Hercule Poirot is my favourite. He's a much more rounded character I think.

Quite a divided view, but thank you. I think I'll read one or two of each and see how I got on. DH is amazed I've got to middle age without ever reading an Agatha Christie.

Miss Marple! Favourite the one with the politically unmentionable original title.

Aren't they going to televise some of the Tommy and Tuppence ones soon?

Aliama · 26/03/2014 12:08

Marple to read, Poirot on telly. The humour in the Marple books comes over better in print, whereas it'd a bit more visual for Poirot if that makes any sense.

Hercule, without a doubt! A much more interesting character.

mummy it's called "and then there were none" now! It was the first agatha Christie I read - I got it, with the original title, from the library!
