Thanks for the copy of Legend of Frog. I have just posted this review: Legend of Frog by Guy Bass is a very funny and well written book aimed at primary school readers. Frog is a young amphibian who believes he is a prince and his adventures encompass a pair of catastrophe pants, a sheep as a faithful steed and an alien invasion.
The writing is charming and the use of Frog's own written narrative makes the story feel authentic. The language and imagery will appeal to younger readers and the humour is well placed throughout the text. The illustrations are imaginative and add to the story.

All in all a great children's book

Thanks for the copy of the book. DD (9) absolutely loved it. She said it was really funny, had lots of adventure and the illustrations really added to the story. She would definitely recommend it to her friends and has already told me that I need to read it too. All in all, a big hit!

I'll be honest, I haven't had chance to read more than the first two or three pages - it looks like a very entertaining story though and I'm looking forward to reading it with DD.

Probably a bit late now, but better late than never...

Firstly, thanks for the book!

I read it myself and quite enjoyed it. It didn't make me laugh out loud, but it did amuse me and I was interested to see where the story was going. My DS (5) saw it and thought it was a children's book, so insisted on DH reading it to him at bedtime. We have read him several other books that come in chapters, but he is really too young for this. I think most of it went over his head. Having said that, he has insisted on having it every night until finishing it (yesterday). I don't know any older children really, so am not sure what age group it would be best for. However, I found it quite funny and can see its appeal. DH hated it. He thought it was nonsense and was disappointed. Perhaps he's lost touch with his inner child, though!!

The initial start was probably abit slow or enough suspense but as the book progressed so the story got a lot better. The modern spaceship idea will appeal to the young readers. Generally the book has gonedown well.
