Hi,
Reading this as our current book club choice, never was a real fan of John Peel but enjoying the book alot. Just what does the tiltle mean, seen it mentioned once in the beginning of the book, almost finished and still mystified! Next choice is the Kite Runner, can anyone sell me a copy?

Don't know I'm afraid but you've reminded me that I bought this (John Peel one) for DP at Christmas and I want to read it! I wondered where the title came from too

ooh remember hearing his wife talking about this.it was something like ' he's read a book with that title and said that was what he wanted be ' margrave of the marshes' and they thought it would be a fab title for his book.
something like that.

Just to let you know that I looked up margrave on the net and it is a european title for a land owner, a similar title here would be a marquise!

From a Guardian review:

(I have read it but am ashamed to say I had forgotten that explanation!)
