GoT theories - Spoilers

Started this off the back of the chat thread, where we didn't want to disclose spoilers for those that have only watched the series.

What do you think happens?

Poor Jon Snow. Stabbed... to death? I think so, but Melisandra is at the wall. he'll be brought back. His vows to the watch ended since he died. I have a sneaky feeling he will be on the Iron throne due to his parentage.
(Rhaegar and Ned Starks sister (can't remember her name)

I really see Dany going the way of Mad King Aerys. I think someone will put an end to her the way Jaime did Aerys, possibly Tyrion. There is a lot of indication of the bond between the 2 brothers, i think both of them will be "kingslayers"

A big 'un - Eddard Stark, is he dead? I've heard theories that a faceless one took his place. Varys seems to be in control of a lot more than he appears (and he appears to be in control of a lot) I have a sneaking suspicion that these theories are right and he and Arya will meet up.

V V interested in the Jon Snow is Lyanna's son theory - the more I think about it the more it make sense. Espesh Baratheon propaganda bit - Lyanna is portrayed as so strong and willful, I can't believe she just let herself be carried off.

You know the whole "the dragon has three heads" thing? My pet theory is the Daenarys will ride Drogon, and Tyrion and Bran will ride the other two. I have absolutely nothing to back this up with, except the fact that Tyrion and Dany are about to meet, Tyrion know loads of dragon lore and always wanted to ride one. Also, the tree dude who's training Bran keeps saying stuff like "one day you will fly". Next part of my theory is the Bran will get too involved in being a dragon (like he does when he's inside Summer's mind) and will go off on one and burn everything.

Davos Seaworthy has been sent to get Rickon (can't remember why or who by) from what I think will turn out to be Skagos, which is basically an island where people eat each other. I have a really bad feeling about Rickon.... it's going to be something terrible like he kills Tommen at his coronation.

I think Dany and Tyrion will get together, and the Tisha (was that her name?) will come back dun dun DUHHHHH!

Also - do we think Brienne is dead? I really hope she isn't, she's one of my favourites. I also want her to shack up with Jaime, which would be fab as it would really piss of Cersi Grin

Dunno, Bran could ride a horse with this special saddle that Tyrion (adding weight to my Tyrion dragon rider theory) designed, so I don't see why he couldn't ride a dragon.

Does Rickon have the strongest claim to the throne in the North? OH GOD JUST THOUGHT what if ends up in cahoots with Ramsey Bolton? If he falls into the Frey's hands that would end so badly, the only moral guidance Rickon has ever had is a direwolf Sad

I totally have Danearys down on my potential baby name list. Thankfully DP is sensible and will stop me calling our future children Daenarys Lyra even though that would be a brilliant name

It's ages since I read the books, who's the dude who was on the boat with Tyrion who is actually a Targ? I think he's going to turn out to be a rum one.

I think the Martells are really interesting, especially the Sand Snakes. I want to see them developed more in the future books, whenever they arrive

That's the badger. So the people with the best claim to the Iron Throne are:

Ageon - Targaryen descent but a bit of a prick IMO
Gendry - trueborn son of Robert Baratheon - would his claim would be stronger than Stannis'?
Jon Snow - if we accept the Lyanna/Rhaegar theory, but bound to the Black Watch until DEATH
Daenarys - Targargen and BAMF

Am I missing anyone? Interestingly, these are all characters that the Lannisters/Freys/Baratheons either don't know or don't really care about.

Of course, having a claim to the throne doesn't actually mean anything, it's going to be about who has the most power, and manages to kill Littlefinger and befriend Varys. C'mon Sansa!

Ah yeah I hadn't thought about the illegitimate thing, good point. Does Gendry know who his father was? He seems to be a bit of a loose end atm, the Brotherhood without Banner bores me slightly.

I want Sansa and Tyrion to become mates, and I want a scene where Sansa apologises to him for making things so difficult for him.

I have major love for Sansa though. She's going to learn all of Littlefinger's secrets and then push him out the moon door Grin. Like Badvoc said, in the game of throne you win or you die, and Sansa survived Kings Landing, so I think she's winning.

What do we think Arya is going to do? I hope there's a Nymeria reunion scene.
