Chick Lit recommendations pls.

I'm going to center parcs on Friday and want to take something light funny and easy to read with me.

All recommendations gratefully accepted pls.

As far as chicklit goes, my guilty pleasure is Debbie Macomber. Her books are easy to read, can be quite humerous and will while away a couple of care free hours.

Oh I think I read a book of hers before about a wee shop. I'll look her up on Amazon. Cheers. My eldest daughter is disgusted I'm looking at chick lit!

You should tell your eldest daughter that's what having kids will do for you. Before mine, I was in a book club, read Literary Fiction and looked down my nose at those who read chick lit. Now it's the ONLY thing I want to read - candyfloss - but I read it VORACIOUSLY. Although my version of chick lit is less sassy-20-sth-shagging-adventures and more family saga/posh people rutting. On which basis: Penny Vincenzi is my most favourite.

Do you like Marian Keyes? Not strictly chick-lit, but easy reads. I really like her writing style and humour. But she does often deal with some very serious subjects like domestic violence, alcoholism, and depression in her novels, although usually with a positive/hopeful outcome.

Sophie kinsella's shopaholic series.

I've just read 2 books by Mhairi McFarlane, recommended by amazon. I really enjoyed them

Jilly Cooper. I took Riders away on my summer holiday and couldn't put it down! I'm now reading the sequel on my kindle so nobody can see

Ecuse. I love posh rutting! It's exactly as u say, I used to love a good book with a bit of depth. Now I have 4 kids a bit of chick lit is all my brain can take at the mo. Will look at ur suggestion and Jilly Cooper.
Duchess I am a massive Marian Keyes fan and stalk her on Teitter and when I'm in Dublin lol. But sadly have read every morsal she has published.
So off to check amazon for some posh rutting and a look at Dorothy Koomson. Cheers duckies. X

Yes for Dorothy koomson and I've recently read 3 liane moriarty books back to back -the stories unfolded gradually they were fab!

Also love Lisa Genova but her themes might be a bit heavy for holiday reads.

Anything by Julia Quinn, especially the Bridgerton series. Regency romance with brilliant, hilarious dialogue. Also love Lisa Jewell, though not strictly chicklit and not particularly funny.

Always thought Jenny Colgan was pretty funny though sometimes early work needed a bit of an edit.

Oh yes Jenny Colgan-I loved her cupcake & sweetshop books but always feel hungry reading them! Really like Jojo Moyes too

Adele Parks is great. Love all her books.

Seconding Jilly Cooper. Start with riders, then rivals, polo then the man who made husbands jealous. The rest are ok but those four are the classics.

Bill Bryson isn't fluff but is v funny and easy to read. A walk in the woods or the life and times of the thunderbolt kid are my favorites.

'The State We're in' by Adele Parks - one of those 'can't put it down' books.

I love, love Sophie Kinsella, she's got just the right touch I think. I like the one about the 20s flapper, The Undomestic Goddess and of course Becky Bloomwood. I know some people don't really click with Becky, they get impatient with her and think she's bad for woman's image in society, and she's not for everyone but give her a try and see how you get on!

Not exactly chick lit but very readable and unputdownable: Liane Moriarty (The Husband's Secret is on the bestseller stands ATM)
