Anyone read Stoner..?

Well this book, which is 48 years old has has some fantastic reviews on Amazon lately. Seems quite a drab subject matter but I was wondering if anyone here has read it and what were their thoughts.

Such a beautiful book, and the ending was so moving. Have bought two more copies for friends' birthdays.

Loved it.

I've just finished it. I was told beforehand that nothing really happens, and I suppose plot-wise that is true.

But it is wonderfully told, and feels so true. I thought it was enchanting.
