I haven't looked at all of the books on offer yet,but I'm ridiculously excited about getting a bargain or ten.

Has anyone purchased anything in the sale yet,or planning to?

I bought The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri, and Mad About The Boy by Helen Fielding. Trying to avoid the sale now, in case there's more I want. Think that's probably enough to keep me occupied for a while :)

VivaLeBeaver · 22/12/2013 19:09

Into the darkest corner is really good.

isitsnowingyet · 22/12/2013 19:25

Oh gosh - thanks for this thread (I think - as I''ve just spent £3.98 on The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (loved her other 2 books) and 'Cuckoos Calling' by Galbraith/aka JK Rowling

gailforce1 · 22/12/2013 19:37

Have found several to swell my new Kindle's library! Hitch22, Nothing to Envy, A Life of Contrasts, The Man without a Face (the rise of Putin which has had several good reviews on MN) and The Lowland.

Does anyone know if they add new titles every day?

CaptainTripps · 22/12/2013 22:08

Oooh lovely. Being a history buff I have bought:

I Should Know That: Great Britain: Everything You (and the Prime Minister) Really Should Know About GB

Bizarre London: Discover the Capital's Secrets & Surprises

Not in Front of the Corgis: Secrets of Life Behind the Royal Curtains by Brian Hoey

JFK - An American Coup: The Truth Behind the Kennedy Assassination by John Hughes-Wilson

Nothing To Envy: Real Lives In North Korea by Barbara Demick

MimsyBorogroves · 23/12/2013 17:31

James Herriot's 'All Creatures Great and Small' for 99p. I loved these as a child, can't wait to reread.

Hohohowhatfuckeryitis · 23/12/2013 17:35

Sorry Cote, but the Passage is an awful pile of poo.(but for 99p is ok) I got the Jon r Ronson one and thinking about a few others.

VivaLeBeaver · 23/12/2013 17:36

I lve The Passage. Have the huge book so have bought a kindle version now as well.

cupofteaplease · 23/12/2013 17:47

Nothing To Envy is superb, I'd really recommend it.

CoteDAzur · 23/12/2013 19:14

I'm 15% into The Passage and so far disagree with your assessment re "awful pile of poo".

I'm not a fan of this genre, but I'm enjoying this genre. Suspense nicely done and full of little details that make the story appear realistic. It reminds me of World War Z in that respect.

MerlinFromCamelot · 26/12/2013 22:39

Reading into the darkest corner. Downloaded it for 99p, looked at it when it was full price but wasn't convinced it was for me but boy am I enjoying this one! Also downloaded Human remains for 99p

NotJustACigar · 27/12/2013 18:59

CoteDAzure, The Epigenetics revolution is fascinating and very engagingly written. My friend who works in that field recommends it as a very accurate introduction to the topic.

I must getThe Passage as I know I could just check it out from the library but it's too big and heavy to carry in my handbag along with all the rest of the crap I always seem to be lugging around.

Am reading The Goldfinch now and loving it.

CoteDAzur · 28/12/2013 17:42

Yes, I'm really looking forward to reading The Epigenetics Revolution Smile

CoteDAzur · 28/12/2013 17:43

Meanwhile, Ben Goldacre's Bad Science is £0.99 today.

newpup · 28/12/2013 18:31

DH gave me a kindle foe Xmas. I have purchased Girl Gone by Gillian Flynn. The little Coffee shop of Kabul, The Hunger Games Trilogy and a couple of thrillers. Very Pleased indeed. :-)

EeyoreIsh · 28/12/2013 18:33
