Am off work with a broken shoulder, in pain and so, so bored...

Please recommend me some absorbing books!

I love books about WW2, but am up for reading anything set at any time, ever.

Please help. I need books to blow me away and take my mind off things.

Not WW2 but if you like jumpy about in time narratives and women's ishoos you might like The Things We Never Said by Susan Elliot Wright. She's meant to be the hot new Maggie O'Farrell type. I enjoyed it and crucially it was only about a quid on kindle offer on amazon I think. Read it in a day because I had to know what happened! Hope the shoulder is improving.

I loved reading Just What Kind Of Mother are you by Paula Daly its her first fiction novel which holds your attention from page 1 to the very last page when A thirteen year old goes missing. And Weirdo by Cathi Unsworth Corinne Woodrow was just fifteen years old when she was convicted of killing her classmate.

Matilda thanks for the recommendation of The Things We Never Said. I took a punt on it as it was on offer, loved it, a real page turner. Very sad.
