Calling all Book Collectors - What have you got? What are you hunting for?

I have a heap of kids books that are starting to become a family collection!

Just wondering what sort of books other MN collect!!!!

I like Conan Doyle too. But that is going to be pretty expensive, surely? You have to compete with all those rich old men?

You'd be surprised! I've found good bargains in little out of the way bookshops, Scotland seem to be particuarly unaware of his status! I've also got his books in French, Spanish and Greek. Not that I'm obsessed at all!

I wish one of these posters that I have found long lost books for would have the decency to come back and be fawningly grateful. Harrumph.

Well thats the nicest thing anyone's said to me all day. Even nicer than being called "Fillyjonk-Mummy stink of wee" by ds.

I have nearly all the Little house books, there are some that were written "in the style of..." that I havenm't bothered with, but may do later.

I also collect hard back Enid Blytons, mainly because I have lots that were given to me as a child.

Also the older style Noddy books.

And I seem to have been subconciously collecting Read it Yoiusrelf and Well Loved Tales for DD1.

Just remembered I also have a lot of the Proper Topsy and Tim books, again from childhood, and I do look around for these a lot.

So, does three Fillyjonks plus ThethreeFillyjonks make four or six? Should I become a Fillyjonk too?

Actually, fillyjonks increase by geometric progression.

Actually, it might get too confusing with another Fillyjonk. There may be more lurking, too anxious to join in. I wondered if I was more of a Moominmamma, or is that just wishful thinking. Besides, there's probably one of those already. Too-Ticky? Maybe. I'm not sweet enough to be a Snork Maiden. Oh, I'm no good at decisions, which is why I always use my rather excessive initials as a username...

I collect signed books. I have about 30, I think.
