Need help finding this book!

Read a book a few months ago, meant to read it again and forgot to note the title or author. Its about a young couple who inherit his grandparents house which has just been released to them by the Ministry of Defence, it was in one of those world war two villiages which were emptied during the war. Its got a bit of a supernatural twist to it. Anyone ?

From the library and cant remember the cover. Not The Greatcoat but that sounds like a good read and I may give it a go!. This was definitely a couple who receive a letter to say they can have this old house back. The whole village has been done up sympathetically, the couple argue a lot, there are secrets and supernatural events. Its all set in an old evacuated world war two village but I think the couple originally live in London. I vaguely know where I was stood in the library (it can only be on one of five shelves!) and am going to look tomorrow whilst shouty DD is at school.

Not there. Man who was wigging in while I was talking to the woman at the desk asked if they could call up my borrowing history, but apparently I cant do that. May try google.

Can you remember anything else about it?

The couple's names? Name of the village? What year it was set in?

Set recently. He had an affair with a foreign lady. Village had a manor house and a pub and the whole community were expected to come together for regular meetings. The woman in the story was a childrens book illustrator and he was a computer geeky guy. I could tell you the whole story apart from any very obvious identifying features! If I ever find it Im buying the damn thing this time!

Brodmaw Bay by FG Cottam?

He was a computer geek and she illustrated books and the whole thing went supernaturally weird at the end.

But it wasn't a grandparents house as far as I recall, they bought it after their son was mugged in London and they felt safer moving to Cornwall.

If it's not this one, read it anyway, FG Cottam is fantastic.

What section of the alphabet or classification of book?

Hardbacks are awkward for reading!

It's starting to drive me a bit bonkers as well! Can you remember anything about the title? Number of words? Main colour of the cover?

Youve made my weekend, am going to acquire it so I dont lose it again. It is an excellent read and keeps all its secrets till the end. (have been trying not to tell you those)

I did an advanced search on amazon, then went through about 10 pages of results before finding it . You provided so much detail I thought it would've been easier tbh!

It does sound good though, have it on reserve at my library!

Tried Amazon but gave up after three pages ! Am ordering the damn thing so I have it and yes it is very wickerman ish.
