Angels Yes, do - Emily Barr's are always set in part in another country so I like that element. Cuban Heels, and the Backpack are ones I've re-read.
I love reading or watching things set in places I've lived - though where I live now is unlikely to appear anywhere in fiction

Just finished You Had Me At Hello by Mhairi Mcfarlane. Debut novel, recommended by Marian Keyes on Twitter. I enjoyed it.

Also Jojo Moyes as others have said.

Read You before me, very different from what I thought, very much enjoyed it. Will try First last kiss next! Thank you! Have also ordered a few of your recommendations for later, thank you all for your tips!:)

I've just finished Rose Petal Beach by Dorothy Koomson, I could not put it down. Definitely worth a read!

LadyVJJ · 07/06/2013 15:48

merringue33 I was going to suggest Lisa Jewell too! Also Dorothy Koomson. Smile

Not really chick-lit, but I would recommend This Is How It Ends by Kathleen MacMahon. I finished reading it last night. It really is good.

Try some of the debut authors out there. And I agree, all the authors mentioned above are excellent. The rest of us aspire to these standards of excellence...

I loved Milly Johnson, the Yorkshire Pudding Club, but then I read it when I was of with my first, booked in at the hospital in the book.

I second Lisa Jewell.
