I am 37 weeks pregnant with DS2 and have just read this book. Anyone else find it depressing? I know having two kids will not be a breeze but IYO is it that bad?

I really enjoyed it.

And the DS was born and it isn't that horrible and I felt I got Lucky

prepared me for the worst, and then let me enjoy the best

I agree with kalex. B4 DD was born I was so worried about all these conflicting emotions i was having about whether i'd love the baby cos i loved DS so much etc. etc. and other people i talked to just said "oh of course you will" without really listening to me. and she went into that and yes it was actually V depressign at times BUT ir prepared me for all of it so that after DD was born and I had the preferring-one-child-over-ther other thing I just got on with it.

Also her section on working when you have 2 kids was really good as i think it put it in more of a political context which for me was really interesting. i effectively gave up work when dd was born (back in now) and it helped.

do wish i'd read more vicky iovine tho as the BF guide to pregnancy was absolutely brilliant and made me laugh but was still serious with excellent advice. yes it's american but they've done some editing for the uk market.
