I used to read ALL the time but I haven't for ages now. Would love it if you could recommend some books for me to read and tell me what they are roughly about without spoilers if able. I like all sorts of genres so feel free to recommend anything and recommend as many as you like. Would love to take reading up again. :)

Same! :(

Recently enjoyed 'An Uncommon Reader' by Alan Bennett - slightly topical, very short and very funny.

My Dear I Wanted to Tell You by Louisa Young - WWW1 story.

Rules of Civility by Amor Towles - 1930s New York - glamorous.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.
The Chaperone - Laura Moriarty.
The Hunger Games trilogy - first one is the best.
Nothing to Envy - Barbara Demick - nonfiction - life in North Korea - v interesting.

DH is reading The Legacy atm and says it took a while to get going but has become a page turner. Wish mine was - Death Comes To Pemberley - disappointing considering it is by P D James, one of my favourite authors.

Have you read any of Debbie Macomber...just read her Blossom Street stories, each book follows several characters and what's happening in their lives, and it is all based around a knitting group (I don't, and never have knitted) and the main character remains in each book....it starts with A Good Yarn....and I'm the 3rd person in my office to read them. We have, between us, just ordered her next series, Cedar Cove and am looking forward to reading those too :-))

The Thirteenth Tale - Diane Setterfield - brilliant story.

Oh sorry - you wanted a rough idea of what its about, - it's a sort of mystery, family secrets being uncovered kind if thing. Reminded me a bit of Daphne Du Maurier.

I am reading Cloud Atlas at the moment. It has been on my bookshelf for about 7 years (along with a few hundred others) and I have just started reading it. I am mad I didn't start sooner, it's fantastic.
