I have an hours commute each way and tbh I am fed up listening to early morning breakfast radio or or post 8pm radio.

I also don't have as much time to read as I used to. A book can last me 3 weeks at the minute with young dc's and family life getting in the way.

Has anyone got any recommendations for good audio books [cd format, I'm not very techy] I will listen to/read any good fiction really. I longer the better.

What do you like to read?! There are lots of good audio books in all genres available now.

I know you said you aren't techy, but if you listen to audio books regularly Audible is great, and you can listen to a sample of the book before you buy - avoiding being landed with something you won't listen to because you can't bear the narrator!
I am not very techy, but Audible + iPod shuffle + iTunes has worked very well for me.

I like listening to some of the big classics on audiobook - things like George Eliot or Dickens - often stuff I might not get round to reading from a book.
Libraries usually have a good stock of audiobooks, - I also tend to go for an actor I like as the reader, or the ones that are read by the author.

Bill Bryson reads his own books on audiobook, and they are really good - very funny.

My sister bought this collection for me, and it's great - lots of well known people reading the books (e.g.Hugh Laurie). I think everyone in the family has borrowed it from me at some point!

I love listening to the Harry Potter Audio books, read by Stephen Fry, though they are expensive because they are so long
