It's probably been done but I've not been here for a bit... Is this 50 shades trilogy worth buying / reading? Really?

Sounds like too much hype but some folk seem to be really enjoying it Wink
My usual read is escapist twaddle, Marion Keyes, Lisa Jewell and the like, otherwise Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett.
I don't think this lot adds up, but I'm curious nosey and intrigued by what's causing all the fuss! Can guarantee honesty on MN so thought I'd ask! TIA...

I know I will never buy it. If a friend leaves a copy in my house I will read it but I read pretty much ANYTHING!

Llareggub · 26/06/2012 23:34

It's very, very dull. Can I recommend Ian Banks to you instead, based on your liking of Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett. Utter tosh.

MrsS3 · 26/06/2012 23:44

oooh. Who's this Ian Banks? Haven't heard, and I;ve clearly been missing something. Thank you for heads up :)
fifty shades of shite will have to remain on the shelf a while longer then Grin

I think you want Iain M Banks rather than Iain Banks - same person, differe t sort of thing

God no! There are millions and millions of better books out there. Better plots, better romances, better erotica, better everything!
Have you tried Neil Gaiman? Anasi Boys or American Gods are good. I love American Gods, and it has the advantage of being nice and big so it lasts a decent length of time too Grin
