Self-Made Man?

Anyone else reading this? I bought it the other day and am enjoying it.

It's all about a woman who tries living as a man for a bit, and talks about what that's like. Very American, though.

I've read it and thought it was very insightful. Anything that enables me to get to know my husband even better, I'm all for. That's why I wanted to read it ... we discussed it and he says what she (author) experienced is not what he does, considering that men's different set of hormones might predispose them to be able to deal with being a man much easier - at least, he feels it is not so hard as she found it to be, and that could be one explanation. Worth noting that he is a wonderful father, and so is his own father.

Finally finished this. I dunno. I mean, she's clearly quite a butch woman, which made her task easier. But she's also clearly hasn't dated men for ages, which made the dating thing just unreal. I don't think an actual man would have behaved anything like what she did there.

I found the bits where she 'infiltrated' men-only environments (the bowling league, the monastery, the men's group) much more interesting.

But still, I thought a lot of it was very American. I find many English men a lot more open about delicate issues, albeit via sarcasm, etc, rather than talking clearly.
