Science Fiction/Fantasy recommendations

Can anyone give me any recommendations?

In the past I have enjoyed writers like Ursula Le Guin, Philip K Dick, John Wyndham, Sheri Tepper etc.

In fantasy I prefer quirky stuff, not so much the dragon-y type, IYKWIM.

Yes to Terry Pratchett, especially the one with the 3 witches - I think it was called "The Wyrd Sisters" - fantastic female characters! Also "Equal Rites", about a girl wizard who challenges male prejudice.

If you're looking for quirky, my favourite is Kurt Vonnegut; not all that scientific perhaps, but humane, anarchic and fun!

Ages ago I read a lovely story by Judith Merrill about a family of interplanetary traders; it was intelligent and humane and I've been
looking for more by her, but without success. Anyone know anything?
