Our May bookgiveaways are: The Making of Us by Lisa Jewell who is going to be joining us for a Q&A later in the month, The Playdate by Louise Millar, The Henry Experiement by Sophie Radice, The Singing Mermaid by Julia Donaldson and, for those who need to make life a little easier in order to have time to read a novel, Calmer, Easier, Happier Parenting by Noël Janis-Norton. Noël is going to be joining us for a live webchat on 11 June to discuss the book and answer your questions.

The forms are all live now (sorry about the glitch Blush, we'll endeavour to get it right next month) and we'll email to let you know over the next day or two if you've been lucky.

I got an email yesterday so say I've got The Playdate. As someone said above, I am too an avid reader, have a pile of about 10 books that have been loaned to me plus library books to read. Thanks so much MNHQ!! Am so pleased. I never win ANYTHING!!!

tootssweet · 24/05/2012 19:08

Copy of The Singing Mermaid arrived today. Thank you very much from a very pleased dd - guess what we are reading at bedtime tonight?
I hope things like this will get my disinterested reader engaged! A book that has been won is way more exciting than a bought oneGrin
I never win things (apart from some wine in a raffle in 1997!) so made my day too. Cheers Mumsnet

TheCunningStunt · 24/05/2012 19:18

I'd like to discuss the Henry experiment too. Does anyone have theirs yet?

serendipity1980 · 26/05/2012 15:26

Hi, I didn't receive any email saying that I had won a book, so I was very surprised to receive a parcel on Thursday with The Singing Mermaid book inside!

It is a wonderful book, it is very engaging because of the detail in the pictures, especially with the addition of glitter. The glitter is used more widely than in 'What the Ladybird Heard' which is great because my son and I spent longer reading the story and feeling where the glitter is. We are discovering new glittery parts each time we read the story which makes it even more interesting, and gives us something new to look at each reading session. I am visually impaired so I love tactile books which help me interpret the pictures. The lyrics are easy to read (except for our au pair!), have a good rhythm, and it is an interesting story. It didn't keep my 2 year old daughter's interest, she went off to do something else, but I would highly recommend it for about 3 years and older. Thank you MN for a great give away, I look forward to trying to get lucky again in next month's book give away!

Abcinthia · 28/05/2012 09:26

I just recieved a copy of The Playdate. Thank you!

BabeRuthless · 28/05/2012 12:16

I didn't get an email but have just received a copy of Making Of Us. Has come at the perfect time as ds has been struck down with chicken pox & we are confined to the house.

Thanks Mumsnet!

Poledra · 28/05/2012 21:18

Another one who didn't receive an email so had the lovely surprise of finding a new book (The Playdate) in the post this evening when I got home. Thank you!

(Not complaining about the lack of email, BTW, just y'know remarking. And it made opening the parcel more exciting)

Emski76 · 28/05/2012 21:24
