I have been for some time in two minds whether to get one and DH surprised me at christmas. He knew it could go either way. So i am trying, Finding it very hard to get used to. I tried a few sample books but didnt get caught up in them, so i bought (and needless to say it wasnt 99p) something easy by an author i have read loads of so i was hooked in and would get used to it. I dont mind reading from it (when i can make my brain stop dotting about shreiking "its not a real book") But so many things irritate me. There are not enough words on a page, it dosent prop up properly in bed, very disapointed it dosent light up so need to buy a light. This morning i read a sample which i enjoyed and decided to buy so clicked buy now and "ker-ching ker-ching" £8.92 out of my account, without having been able to see (not often i spend that much on a book), just looked at Amazon to see paperback a pound cheaper. I have guilty feeelings about not using local bookshop and also really worry about charity shops loss of income from second hand books.
Sorry about this rantanyway what i really want to know is there anyway of sharing books on a kindlefor £8.92 this one needs a few more reads! (DH bought it hoping it would save money on books)

you can skip chapters, press the right arrow key and it takes you to the start of the next chapter

remember you can get a refund if you have instant buyers regret too.

I agree kindle is as well as books - for cheapness and ease of carrying books around/on holiday and I find it's easier to read in bed- lighter, one handed and I have the lit cover wihch is spendy but brilliant.

I got one for Christmas after being in 2 minds about it, and I am absolutely loving it.

I bought one book I really wanted to read which happened to be only 99p, and since then I've been downloading free classics and wallowing in Victoriana. And I've downloaded all sorts of children's classics and cheap books for the dc who are also enjoying it.

I have turned into a total Kindle bore... I often feel a bit anxious if I think I might be going on a journey and run out of books to read so this is like a comfort blanket, I can take it charged up with lots of books, which I find reassuring.

I am wary of the One Click button though, you could easily spend a lot there if you weren't careful.

I too received mine for Christmas...am a resolute book lover, but have to say I love the Kindle now. Like Arctic...I am in danger of becoming a bit of a bore on the subject, however, and since Christmas have already read 3 books on it !

I would say research the books you are interested in before attempting to purchase...most of the books I have purchased have been a good £2 or £3 cheaper than normal paperbacks. I will still continue buying books, but feel that I will be able to buy more beautiful, classic, reference books etc, and stick to paperbacks and 'bookclub' books on the Kindle. I have a voracious appetite where books are concerned and so feel it will ultimately be cheaper for me to purchase on Kindle.

Also, I have a leather cover, which is rather like holding a book anyway. I am so looking forward to loading up books for hols.

Me too!
I also like the fact that I can coordinate my Kindle books on the IPad so that I can read them in bed with DD asleep in her cot.

Are you saying there's a way of sharing Kindle books? Now THAT would be good...
