Well I was going to ask earlier what he looked like but didn't want to look shallow in case you were after him for his brains . Mind you, can't see the attraction myself - perhaps you need to be there !!

Still love the books though.

Lio · 17/01/2006 10:54

Hee hee, this is why I love MN

Rhubarb · 17/01/2006 12:36

Sorry, but he looks minging!

Marina · 17/01/2006 12:40

House of Sleep is my favourite too. How much can one man love a woman ? I was in tears at the end of that novel and books don't often make me cry.
I love this man and I too think his real love and intuitive understanding of women that surges off the page at you wave-crashing, From Here To Eternity style, means he has got to be a top shag.

I like that art studenty look. Sigh.

I believe not. Convincing younger child representation curious absent from his novels IIRC, also anything at all written from a parents' perspective. At least St Jonathan knows his limitations - Lionel Shriver read and take note...

I still quite fancy that photo which proves I am the tasteless pervy sort of stalker, doesn't it

Marina · 18/01/2006 09:20

We knew that anyway MI

Marina · 18/01/2006 09:20

I'll just say Rufus Wainwright and walk away from the thread...

Hazellnut · 18/01/2006 10:42

Hmm - the second photo doesn't persuade me either... in fact... makes me more sure of my convictions . Ah well... looks like there's less competition out there for you lot

Now... Jonathan Franzen - photo please ? or are we just after his brains too ?

Hazellnut · 18/01/2006 12:11

Not sure if anyone would still be looking at this, but just have to inform every fan of the gorgeous Mr Coe that he will be joining us Live on Tuesday 1st July on this thread for our Mumsnet Book of the month thread.

So come and ask him everything you've ever wanted to know, doesn't have to be about his new book (Rain Before it Falls), you can put whatever you like to him...
