Quick Kindle question - second device

I have a Kindle which has all my library on, registered in my name and with my amazon account. I've just bought my DH one for Christmas, it's registered in my name again (on amazon it's listed as my 2nd Kindle) and linked to my amazon account as my DH doesn't have one. I was a really annoyed last night as it arrived in a lovely cardboard box with 'kindle' written over it and my DH took the delivery. Anyway...

I thought that I couldn't share books between devices but when I charged the new one, all of my Kindle library appeared as 'archived items' and I was able to download onto the new Kindle. I've just checked and they are still on my old Kindle as well.

So my question is, as both Kindle's are linked to the same person and amazon account, can I swap books between Kindles? If that makes sense...

I believe you can have up to six kindles on one credit card.

I think you can have the books on both kindles.

Brilliant! That is just the answer I was hoping for, thank you reallytired

I assumed it was all going to be 'Kindle specific' seeing as people moan about not being able to share books etc. So it must be ok then if the Kindles are all on the same account.

Yes if both kindles are registered to the same account then you can share all the books in your library. However, if you subscribe to a newspaper, then that can only be read on one kindle. Which is a shame imho as if you buy a newspaper obviously that can be read by multiple people.
