Terry Pratchett Colour of magic. Is it worth reading to the end??

After years of telling myself that one day I will read all of Terry Pratchetts disc world books I've finally started reading The colour of magic and I just can't get into it.

I'm reading it on my Kindle and apparently i've only read 7% of the book, so those of you that have read disc world should I carry on or give up? Does is get any better? I'd been told that I would love these books by a friend and so far I am not loving it at all.

I know what you mean. I am repeatedly told how good they are and I did enjoy Equal Rites and Wyrd Sisters, but the stories don't grip me, I could happily put most TP books down halfway through and not go back to it. I think I finished about 4, but only to please DP. I'm sure they're great, but I just find it a bit tedious, endless spoof.
