Just read it, latest version with two afterwards at the end. We are the same age and grew up 30 mins apart in vastly different worlds, me leafy Cheshire suburb, her just off Princess Parkway.
Some of the things in the books were just horrible, and I wanted to shake her mother. And sometimes it was just the simple meaness eg: her Mum and Step Dad tucking into an Indian while her and her sisiter had to watch and eat toast, amongst many.
Anyway, very inspiring, touching, funny and if you grew up in the 70's and 80's there are so many things you will notice. Not a grim sad read either. Definately worth it. The opening paragraphs are enough to break your heart.
