And I really think they would have been edited much more harshly (and been better books) if he had been alive.

I'm halfway through book 2, found book 1 hard going at first but then couldn't put it down. I like the Scandinavian attention to detail, but then I'm a geek and I like interesting sandwiches too.
I really like the way Salander is developed as a character in book 2, the backstory is skilfully fed through and I find the whole concept of guardianship quite terrifying - which we are probably meant to. I've got book 3 waiting, shame there isn't going to be any more.
