advice needed for my kindle

I bought a kindle a while ago, and want to lend it to my dad. But..I've downloaded books onto it that I'd rather he didn't know about. I've deleted the bloody things, both on the kindle and on my amazon page, but they still come up as archived items, also on my delivery status on my amazon page. Please help if you can.

actually managed it - if this is of any use to anyone else, once you've deleted a book via the 'manage your kindle' page on amazon, it won't delete from your kindle until you've turned your wireless on.

I hope I can remember that if I ever need to do it. Big brother is everywhere now!

I am almost useless on technology; but interested in the Kindle thing My wife says she likes the feel of books. How does |Kindle feel?

silverfrog · 13/05/2011 10:54

ah - that explains, it sausage. I was about to fetch my kindle and investigate, as whenever I have deleted anyhting it goes automatically, but then I have my wifi on permanently.

Scousy: on it's own, it feels a bit light, flimsy and plastic-y, imo. but bung it in a cover (by preference I have one which opens like a book, to add to my illusion Grin, rather than a "skin" type one) and it is fine. lighter than a book (especially a hardback/big book), easier to hold in one hand and still turn pages etc.

Yes, its brilliant for one-handed reading (useful if you want to drink a coffee at the same time)! I also like the fact it keeps the last page you were on. Also you can download free samples of books you think you might like, to see if you will like them, before buying.

thanks Silver and Mary

I think we may end up getting one.

"One handed reading" reminded me of what used to be called "one handed literature".....I am not going to draw either of you a picture. Just think about it...... Hank Janson was a writer of my youth...Hank taught me a lot. (Well before your time?)

scousy - there's another recent thread about this in this forum, with quite a few comments

thanks, Sone
