how 'romance' are you looking for?

pitiful end of the scale: twilight

mid: true blood/sookie stackhouse

full on sex scenes: black dagger brotherhood

twolittledarlings · 19/03/2011 20:20

I loved the True Blood and twlight series.

Have also read the Harper series and the Lily Bard series from Charlaine Harris.

Have read The Vampire Diaries (OK) and have just finished reading the Vampire Academy series which are great page turners.

Not sure what to read next?

Will find out more about the Black Dagger ones - thank you BellaBearisWideAwake

First one is Dark Lover, the ninth is out soon. Warning: they really are vampire porn!

BellaBearisWideAwake · 19/03/2011 20:22

JR Ward btw

goodbyemrschips · 19/03/2011 20:33

Have you read 'shiver'

not vampires ...warewolves [set of three books]

TeamLemon · 19/03/2011 20:36

Don't read The Blackdagger Brotherhood if ridiculous over-use of the letter H offends you.
The Brhothers all have names like Rhage, Phury and Phucking Useless.

NeverAttributeToMalice · 19/03/2011 20:38

Bram Stoker's Dracula? Grin

sfxmum · 19/03/2011 20:40

Team hasn't got a damn clue what she is talking about since she has never read the books Angry

The Black Dagger Brotherhood books are fantastic as are:

The Demonica Books (about Demons & Vampires)
The Dark Hunters
Vampire Academy
The Mortal Instruments
The Succubus Series

Morganville & Vampire Diaries were not so good imo.

BelligerentGhoul · 19/03/2011 22:37

Dracula
Let The Right One In (but the ending is stupid)
The Historian

SandyisinCaldwell · 19/03/2011 22:37

For me Let the Right One In was one of the worst books I've ever read.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 19/03/2011 22:48

Yeah, i read 'handling the undead' by the same guy and was a bit disappointed. An interesting premise, but not sure he'd entirely thought through where he wanted to go with it.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 19/03/2011 22:52

Of course, if you've never read Interview With the Vampire, you've missed out on a big landmark vampire novel....

BelligerentGhoul · 19/03/2011 22:53

I found Interview With The Vampire completely unreadable.

GotArt · 19/03/2011 22:54

The Vampire Lestat. Anne Rice. Actually, the whole series is pretty good.

I Am Legend is a vampire story... thought it was a zombie type one. Granted, I've only seen the movie. Either way, it scared the crap out me.

GotArt · 19/03/2011 22:55

Unreadable (Gasp!) I loved it.

SandyisinCaldwell · 19/03/2011 22:58

The Night Huntress is another series - by Jeaniene Frost - BONES IS HOT!

SandyisinCaldwell · 19/03/2011 23:00

Chloe Neil - Chicagoland Vampires

SandyisinCaldwell · 19/03/2011 23:00

Midnight Breeds - Lara Adrian
Lords of the Underworld - Geno Showalter

MammKernow · 19/03/2011 23:04

The entire Necroscope series by Brian Lumley. Proper dark vampire stuff, not sparkly crap kids. Thousands of pages across the series, real epic stuff Smile

FortiesCromarty · 19/03/2011 23:07

The Night Watch series by Sergei Lukyanenko are really good, set in Russia, but they are not sexy vampires, more supernatural.
