Really enjoying it. She has a wicked sense of humour.

I thought it was rubbish but really enjoyed reading it.

enjoyed it, but Case Histories was the best. when will was TOO harrowing for me

Dont know when it starts, but the TV series is a six-parter, covering the first 3 books (but just called "Case Histories").

I liked the whole tone of "Started Early" and I thought it was the cleverest one with language, of the Jackson books. I love the amount of humour she can pack into one paragraph with her twists on language, and I'm aware I'm missing some of her references but it doesnt disturb the story. It's a multilayered experience reading a Kate Atkinson so I find it great for blocking out the rest of the world.

Now that I've gotten farther in, I'm really starting to enjoy this one. Am actually finding it much more enjoyable than WWTBGN?.

Sneak preview date for all your diaries: Kate Atkinson is our June Author of the Month - she'll be answering any questions about Started Early (plus any of her other books) on June 22nd, so come along. Discussion thread will go live next Thursday (after Maggie O'Farrell, our May Author, has done her chat on Wednesday eve)...

Trying to work out which order to read the books -
Case Histories
One good turn
When will there be good news

Does Behind the scenes at the museum come next, followed by Started Early?

Thanks to anyone who can answer!

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 20/05/2011 09:06

hi -
Case Histories
One good turn
When will there be good news
Started Early - these are the Jackson Brodie books

Behind the Scenes at the Museum is not part of the same series

gailforce1 · 25/05/2011 20:24

Thank you LightShines for sorting the order out.
Kate A must be very popular as none of her books are ever on the shelf in then library and I have had to reserve them!!

Wheelybug · 26/05/2011 14:31

Can anybody advise whether they are stand alone books or if they are best read in order ? I've read Case Histories (and have the next 2 unread so far) bt would like to join in with the book club discussion.
