Sweet Valley Confidential

For all you closet Wakefield fans, I have a treat .............
In my hot little hands, I am clutching a proof of 'Sweet Valley High Confidential - Ten Years On......' No longer just a rumour, we will at last be able to find out what happened when Elizabeth and Jessica eventually grew up.

Did size 6 become size 16? Did cosmetic surgery remedy the mole on Elizabeth's shoulder? Will Todd and Elizabeth ever be together and will Jessica ever find a true love that doesn't tragically die within two months of meeting her?

You'll have to wait until April .......

Oooh, I loved Sweet Valley High.

I especially loved the strange, exotic combinations of clothing the twins used to wear. Jessica was always getting dressed in combinations like 'the softest leather trousers with a new olive green turtleneck, finished off with a silk, animal print scarf'. It all sounded so glam when I was ten.

I bet Jess is a right go-er these days Wink

bigkidsmademe · 14/11/2010 21:26

I LOVE sweet valley. Have any of you seen the dairi burger? here

it is amazing

MayorNaze · 15/11/2010 09:30

ah it is coming back to me...didn't jessica get elizabeth totally trollied and liz ended up killing someone in a drink driving accident?

or am i making that up?

or did jessica kill someone and let elizabeth take the blame?

am sure somebodies boyfriend (was it the drip-tastic todd?)meets their maker...Confused

Bumperlicious · 15/11/2010 09:43

Yeah, Jessica spiked liz's drink then she & jess's boyf Sam got in a car & had am accident & Sam died. I only remember this as I have read these ones recently Blush

They must have made up though as they are speaking when they go to uni.

notalone · 15/11/2010 09:49

I used to love them too! My local greengrocers sells second hand books outside the shop. Not sure why but last time I was there they had about 10 Sweet Valley High books for about 30p each. I had a quick flick for old times sake but couldn't bring myself to buy them and then have to explain to DP why I have just bought some very old tatty dated books aimed at 11 year old girls.

I will definitely be reading the confidential book though. Bet it is still saccharin sweet. I bet Elizabeth is married (to Todd) with 2.5 children and waggy tailed lab. Meanwhile Jessica is probably a go getting career girl who dates lots of different men and has an amazing apartment. I hope to be proved wrong!

needtogetalife · 15/11/2010 09:53

om my really really, is this real? I am going to feel so dim if not but I did actually love sweet valley. Is it really coming back?

Bumperlicious · 15/11/2010 09:56

That website is great! I must admit that reading the books now dies taint them a little realising just how crap they are!

Apparently if you sign up to the sweet valley confidential site you get a link to the first chapter.

madamehooch · 15/11/2010 10:52

notalone. Very, very wrong ......

ha i bet liz is superhot journo hilary clinton type and jessica is total trailer park white trash with 5 kids by 5 dads and lapdances to make ends meet Grin

madamehooch · 15/11/2010 19:28

Wrong Mayornaze!

Jessica has reformed, and become a missionary in Guatemala. Elizabeth has gone off the rails and beome a reality TV star, habitual cocaine user and publicity junkie.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 15/11/2010 19:45

I cant wait for this Blush

I always remember a line out of one of the Sweet Valley University books about how Liz had put on weight Shock and was "looking like a sausage" in one of her dresses.

That made me realise at the grand old age of 14 how crap they really were!

cwtchy · 15/11/2010 19:53

Ooh I don't know, Take That back as a 5-piece, and now a new SV book...my life may actually be complete!

I have posted on another thread about SVH before, if anyone ever checks my posting history they will conclude (perhaps rightly) that I am a bit of a loser. Can I bring myself to ask anyone to buy me this book as christmas present though?

Bumperlicious · 15/11/2010 19:54

I've spent the afternoon reading the reviews of all the svh books on that dairi burger site - v funny!

notalone · 15/11/2010 20:15

Oooh - am glad I am wrong. Are you allowed to pm me with a spoiler?

Ooh, I was never really into SVH but loved Sweet Valley Twins when I was younger still!

Katz · 16/11/2010 08:12

Were there 3 series of books? SV twins, SV High and SV university. I also remember a tv series too

UntitledNo2 · 16/11/2010 09:27

Oh, I am alarmingly excited about this! In fact, I may have to re-read all my SVH books in preparation (yup, still have 'em all, and even brought them from my folks' attic when I moved out). Am guessing (hoping!) that it isn't one of the twins that dies... But surely they can't have survived numerous attempts on their lives by many, many serial killers/revenge seekers/identity stealers/secret society leaders etc just to croak in the last book. Shite.... I think I have just demonstrated an abnormal level of knowledge on this subject!

AbsofCroissant · 16/11/2010 09:34

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEAM!!!!

I loved sweet valley as a child/teenager, and fortunately realised it was a bit crap at the time. My friend and I used to place bets on when they would mention the "blue-green eyes the colour of the Pacific ocean", perfect size six figures, blonde hair, identical apart from a mole on Elizabeth's shoulder and the whole "as different as night and day" debacle. I also found Elizabeth ANNOYING, but knew in my heart I was more like her than Jessica (wanted to be Jessica though). Will email bezzy friend now to tell her!

Rhian82 · 16/11/2010 10:26

I think there was a Sweet Valley Kids one as well, where they're about seven!

Best friend texted back saying she's also disappointed they're not out til April.

I also quite liked Lila, and was secretly pleased when she and Bruce (despite her being "new money" and him being "old money") finally got together in the SVC series.

I'm scared to re-read them in case they are just a great big pile of pants.
