Any ideas ladies? I'd like to read some chick lit centred around the topics of pregnancy, babies, motherhood, parenting, etc.

I've read all of Polly Williams' books and very much enjoyed them.

Am trying to remember the author but have read a series of books by an Irish author about TTC, adopting and then becoming pregnant naturally. Might be called Siobhan. Not sure this is that helpful but will keep thinking Grin

Was Sinead not Siobhan Blush

Thank you :) They look really good. I'm assuming that I begin with "The Baby Trail". Is that correct?

Watermelon by Marian Keyes is about having a new baby (and splitting up with the father!) Lightweight and quite amusing, but with a bit of a dark undercurrent - typical Marian Keyes.

Watermelon is good, the Mel Giedroyc and Fiona Gibson ones are quite funny (if a little predictable, all very Mumsnet thread lol moments) Really really crap ones are the Fat women (or something, can't remember exact titles, they were real women who met at an antenatal class and were awful)

As a rule of thumb (and I read all books I could find about babies when I was pg and shortly after) the good ones were the ones written by people who also wrote about other things, ie M Keyes, while the I-could-do-better-myself ones were written by the women who suddenly thought having a baby made them unique and hilarious.

I've just finished "The Hand that first held mine" by Maggie O'Farrell and while it is quite light reading/fast paced I think she does capture the feeling of new-motherhood quite well....

My sister gave me Watermelon when I was pregnant with my first dc - there were some quite amusing coincidences between characters in the book and people in my life!
