What made you cry?
I have just read Twilight and New Moon but having to take a break as i got a bit swept up in the story, slipped out of reality (which happens a bit when I read) so I need to stop and feed my kids etc.
I have my purse ready for Eclipse.

the twilight saga has changed alot of peoples lives! It somehow sweeps you up in it,and leave reality, and you get back in touch with your teenage self !And I've heard the books get better as they go on ...

The bit where Jacob mouths "miss you" to Bella as he leaves. Mind you I am pregnant maybe its that. I was sobbing

Have ordered Eclipse off Amazon, wish I`d bought it from tesco now, I can't wait to see what happens next.

The Twilight Saga has changed my life and I know that sounds melodramatic but I don't care

I know it is badly written in places and I know some of the views it tries to portray are misogynist. I believe myself to have good taste in literature but something about it 'sparked' me again after years of losing confidence since I became a mum 5 years ago

I have lost weight, I am more confident and it has reminded me that I still have those feelings. My dh and I met when we were 18 and have been soul mates ever since. No there isn't angst anymore or that first flush of first love, but he is my Edward.

Wouldn't say no to Robert Pattison as a vampire though

roseability that is a lovely post. Anything which gives you your spark back can never be a bad thing. Come over to the TSA threads for more of the same and pictures of Rob

I have had to restrain myself from getting eclipse from Sainsbury's as some of the books are 2 for 7 pounds. I wouldn't be able to not read it and I don't think we can spend any more days at home during the holiday so I can read.
I echo the post about remembering what I was like when I was younger and finding those aspects of my character again.

On the other hand, I feel so over it. Cannot connect with the endless witterings and dithering. I relived my teenage self with the sense that I have left it behind, and for good reason too.

AnyFucker · 02/08/2010 21:22

Blueshoes...you should read "The Passage" by Justin Cronin

It is the perfect antidote to allthe "witterings" and "dithering"

I do get why people love the Twilight books so much though. They take you to a different place in your head, and that is good fiction, of course

I also love the way the characters are actually good role models for teenagers in that there is a distinct lack of gore, bad language and casual sex

I positively encourage my 14 yo dd to read, and re-read them

roseability · 02/08/2010 21:33

LOL blueshoes - I sooo know it is witterings and dithering. But I believe it has connected me with the good parts of my teenage self. I had a pretty rough teenagehood (abusive wanker step father) and I had all but written those years off

But I was passionate and loved deeply. I think I had a good soul. I read obsessively. Twilight has done something that years of therapy could not. It has made me realise that despite the abuse I was a 'normal' teenager and it is this aspect of me that has shone through and turned me into the surviving well adjusted adult I am today

Well adjusted apart from the vampire obsession that is

I love the whole Twilight series. I read all 4 books twice over a 3 week period Blush

I am secretly in love with Edward Cullen.

The books make you remember what it was like to be a teenager again. All the angst.

I did feel very depressed after I read New Moon the first time. Stephene Meyer described the heartbreak so well, I thought.
