Slower loss after exercise?

Hi everyone,

I did WW successfully a few years ago and have recently started again.

During the first time around, I noticed that I'd lose a lot less on weeks where I exercised than on weeks where I didn't (0.5-1lb compared to 2-3lbs). I have been going to the gym a lot since starting WW and it seems to be happening again.

Does anyone else find this happens to them? Any idea why? I've read that it may be water weight as exercise causes your body to hold onto water, but it doesn't seem to ever drop off.

The same thing happens to me. My advice is to take progress photos of yourself and measurements and redo every 4 weeks or so. If you stick to plan you’ll notice the difference in these areas, even if the number on the scales moves frustratingly slow.

When you exercise, even cardio, the muscles that are worked fill with water. This is what gives you that “good ache” the next day or 3...
That’s what causes a temporary water weight problem (not much loss or s small gain)
