I've always in the past gone to SW but I find that I lose so much with them and then stop so I'm thinking about joining a ww class. Could anyone please explain how it all works? How are points etc calculated how do you know how many points you have for the day and how the meetings are ran? Thank you!

When you join a class there's a form to fill in, then you go and get weighed and meet your coach. They will tell you how many points you are on. There's no way of working this out yourself, it's some formula based on height weight etc.

You get a daily allowance and also a weekly one. Daily ones have to be used that day, you can't carry them over. Weekly ones are for whenever you like throughout the week, although again they can only be used on that week. Some people save them for the weekend, or for a day when they know their dailies aren't going to be enough, others use them here and there throughout the week. Some people don't bother using them at all. You can work out the points in your food via the app, which is excellent, or there are books or there a points calculator you can buy. Your introductory program material will also have a comprehensive food list with points values.

Then once everyone has been weighed the coach will do a talk, based on whatever the subject is that week. Every coach is different in their style so that's as much as I can say on that really.

And that's it I think!

Oops, forgot. You don't have to count points if you don't want to, although. Is recommended while you're getting to grips with the programme.

You can do what's called no count. Lots of foods are this, namely lean meat, fish other protein sources, fruit and veg ( with a few exceptions), calorie controlled bread, lots of stuff. There's a list of no count food in the programme material. So you eat your no count foods and if you want anything that's not no count you take that from you weekly points allowance, which you still get.
