For those who've done 'old' WW and also 'new'...

...do you think your weight loss has been slower with the new systems?? i have been alternating F&H and PP and found i am so much less hungry this time around compared with 'vintage' points - I'm wondering if my weight loss will be slower as a result?? Any experience? Smile

I lost loads more weight and in a smaller timescale on PP (4 stone in 10 month) I found the old system hard work and slow. I also felt fuller on PP.

I'm rejoining next Tuesday when I'll be 3 weeks post baby. Need to get back on it!

I have never got my head around PP. I do understand it but 26pp is never enough and I always go ott on the weeklies.

I lost 2 1/2 st on vintage WW and kept it off until pregnancies, wheni let it go completely. I'm going to give it another go though. I feel I need the control of a plan rather than the freedom of calorie counting alone.

I am pregnant at the moment but I will be going back to the old plan afterwards. I lost three stone with it. Could never get into pro points.

I got to goal on vintage ww but struggle more with pp.

I used to lose 4lb in each of my first 2 weeks on old points. On pp I'd lose a lb and a half.

I've jacked it in and will do mfp and cals instead. You can work out cals more easily and it's free. :)

This fell off my watch list way before anyone replied! Some interesting replies - a real mixed bag of experiences. I have started yet again (really committed this time) and am halfway through my second week. Compared with the first time around, I have found it much easier and feel I am able to eat more - it's also more flexible as I can save quite a lot of the weekly 49 if I do a couple of filling & healthy days.

During my first week on vintage points I was starving and lost 3.5lb. On the new plan I was mostly satisfied with what I could eat and I lost 2lb. I just hope the loss is sustainable. I don't mind losing 1lb or even 0.5lb a week as long as the plan is manageable. I don't want to suffer too much! Last time my loss was quite predictable - lose 3lb -ish one week, lost 1lb next week, stay the same next week then cycle starts again. A few times I lost 4lb in one week then gained 1lb the next week etc. It seems to come off me in big chunks followed by a 'consolidation' period - not sure how that will work with smaller losses though?? I don't much fancy 'lose 1lb, stay the same for 2 weeks' as a pattern... We'll see I guess.

Difficult to say..I did the vintage 10 years ago but I was 23 as opposed to 33! Also I never really counted the booze and I was a student so drank lots! whereas I barely drink now. Thinking about it, maybe my weight loss is a but slower but I'm sure I'm eating better because I snack on 0 PP fruit and veg!

I prefer the new system because I feel less limited. I used to eat all my points and still be hungry. Now if I am I can use my weekly/activity points and plenty of fruit and veg to fill me up so I'm better off.

Deep just before I quit they did 'Switch' where you could do PP or something similar to F&H. It relied on you eating 3 meals a day though and with the shifts I do, I often have 4 small meals a day so that didn't work for me.

HedgehogsDontBite · 21/01/2015 12:16

Sounds like your idea of vintage WW is different to mine :o

When I first joined WW it was x portions of protein, x portions carb, x fat etc plus 100 daily calories for treats.

Yep I'm that old.

ALittleFaith · 21/01/2015 12:20

I'm talking circa 2004! I think when I started it was 'Time for you' then it switched to 'Switch'!

HedgehogsDontBite · 21/01/2015 16:26

I think I last joined around 1904 [feeling old]
