Can someone give a brief explanation of WW please?

I've been doing Slimming World for about 8 months and lost 2 1/2 stone, which I'm thrilled with! However, I've been gaining and losing the same 1/2 stone for a couple of months now due to finding it hard to stick to the plan and I'm wondering if starting something new will re motivate me as I have another 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 stone to lose.

I've done WW in the past but always been hungry and things that are free on SW, like fruit, had points on WW, but I understand it's changed, so could anyone outline the plan please?

With the ww simple start, most of the foods that are free on sw are eaten. Cooked, fresh & drained tinned fruit are not counted. Use wholemeal pasta & rice. Calorie controlled bread/wb thins and crumpets are allowed as are shredded/puffed wheatans oats, you eat 3 meals a day till you feel satisfied. And what snacks from the list. You have a weekly points allowance of 49 for 'junk/treats'
An example menu,
B- shredded wheat banana boiled egg and wb thin.
L- homemade soup,grilled chicken salad
D- steak, baked wedges & salad
Snacks of fruit/veggie sticks then treat of small glass wine and penguin biscuit.
There is a propoint plan than is followed after initial 2 weeks.
If you Google ww there enough info to follow the dfirst couple of weeks.

Fruit is now zero points on the points plan - this is the main difference I think. Also they have recalculated the amount of points you get each day and recalculated the points values of all foods. Instead of getting a fixed number of points each day and being able to save up to 3 a day for a treat/blowout/weekend, you get a 'bare minimum' amount each day plus an additional weekly 49 to use through the week or in one go.

Having tried both the 'old' points and new propoints, they do 'feel' quite different but I will say that if you want to stick to the daily propoints and save all your 49 for a dinner out etc, you will be having very low intake on those days unless you eat a lot of fruit and veg. I think I got 26 points a day which was very austere (or felt like it to me Blush). The points of lots of things are double on propoints what they were on old style points, plus they are shaving a bit off so that you can eat fruit without counting - so the plan sounds more do-able (and actually, if you like fruit, I think it is more do-able in many ways).

Thankyou both. I'm going to give it a go. Just the idea of trying it is making me feel more positive and motivated, so I think that's a good sign. I feel like I will miss my SW leader and group though, but I'm sure the WW group will be just as nice. I'm going along tomorrow.

the big advantage to me is that you can switch from pp to h&f day by day depending on what works for that day. I'm in maintenance now and still do that a bit, I will point if it doesn't fit in with the plan.

Thank you. I've joined the main thread. My first day has gone well and it is lovely being able to eat all the bread, crumpets etc as well as unlimited skimmed milk and tinned or cooked fruit.
