What are your top tips for weight watchers? Favourite no point recipe? Snacks? Just started and very slow going.

It took me a few days to register that all fruit seems to be 0 points these days so I'm trying to always have a piece of fruit in my bag as an emergency snack.

I also like mini pots of reduced fat houmous (usually 3pts) with carrot and cucumber sticks - I try to have some cut up in a pot in the fridge ready to go when the crisps are calling in the evening!

Dime bars are 4 points. I normally nibble it very slowly! Meringue nests are 1 pt. cover with a WW yoghurt (1pt) and loads of fruit. Huge desert for 2pt!
Walkers French fries are 2pts a packet.
Any other good finds anyone?

You can fill a Warburtons thin with a mashed banana and some blueberries or any fruit you fancy, use a bit of beaten egg brushed round the edges and seal, spray with fry light and bake for 20 mins at gas mark 6 to make a sort of fruit pie for 3 PP each or free food on filling and healthy. They're also nice filled with chicken breast mixed with a bit of quark and curry powder. Again, free on filling and healthy.

Thanks Mid! Also try those new Solero Mojito lollies. 1 pt each half the points of a fab!

I've made point free jam today. It is just frozen blueberries, cooked for a few minutes to release the juice and start to burst and then I added a tiny bit of sweetener (not enough to give a nasty taste) and a sachet of gelatine. My husband reckons it tastes like normal jam. I had some on toast and it makes a great snack if you fancy something sweet.

I'm just starting my ww journey once again.

Boring as it sounds my top tip would be to plan. Whenever I'm organised and making proper meals I find it easier to stick to. Shame I'm not always organised!

Good luck

BUtternut squash is 0 points and when I feel like I've had a bad couple of days or used up quite a lot of weeklies, I slice one in half & bake - usually spread with lightest Philadelphia with Chilli (1pt for 30g) for the last 20 mins or so of baking. Serve with lots of salad. V low point dinner.

Sainsburys do multi bags of salted popcorn - each little bag is only 46 cals (1 point) so nice to snack on if you have the urge to snack.

Count on Us Chocolate Mousse from M&S is the nicest chocolate mousse if you need a chocolatey / sweet fix - only 2 pts.

I also like the Warbutons Square Wraps (4pts each) as a cheat pizza base (seem to crisp up better than other wraps). If you spread with harissa paste (0 points) then load with peppers / onions / jalapenos / some very finely sliced pepperoni (about 20g worth but if its thin enough that's 4 slices) and some light mozzeralla / light cheddar, and then bake, you can fool yourself into thinking you're having a pizza for about 9 or 10 points Grin.

Oh this is a great thread. I'm starting on Monday and will copy these ideas.

Free soup
Butternut squash roasted "chips "
Ww porridge
Hot squash

Options is a chocolate fix for 1 point and I always have mini twisters in the freezer - also 1 point. You can make some brilliant soups for very low points, try the Covent garden soup book an use the recipe calculator online. My fave one has tomatoes, pasta and sausage for only 3 points.

loulou282 · 06/09/2014 21:46

Make lots of no point soup and freeze it. My favourites are mushroom, carrot and coriander, tomato. Really fills u up on no points. My treats are mini crunchies and quavers, both 2 points. Don't use many ww products but the sausages are good, usually chuck them in pasta with tomato sauce. I like Warburton thin and an egg sometimes for breakfast, 5 points and will keep you full.

Milky Way crispy rolls are appoint and are gorgeous.

shamelessly watching! Wink

georgiad · 10/09/2014 14:58

Dinner:
Quorn sausages - 2 for 3pp, with a portion of Smash - 3pp
40g of Couscous boiled with an oxo cube & veg - 5pp
One chicken fillet diced up in veg and stirfried in FryLight spray - 5pp

Packets of crisps:
Pom bears, wotsits, french fries, velvet crunch - ALL 2PP

Desert:
Mini Milk lollies - 1pp each & 3 for 2pp. I can't survive Summer without them!
Curly Wurly - 3pp
Microwave a banana for 5 mins with three table spoons of low fat custard (yum) - 2pp

STIDW · 15/09/2014 13:03

My top tip is to make my own. I find meals and snacks are more satisfying and fewer pp if I make them myself e.g. M&S scones 8pp v homemade scone similar size or muffin 5pp; 0pp soup; fruit compote. It doesn't take long. Usually I'll make a pot of soup, cook compote or stew fruit to freeze whilst I'm in the kitchen preparing an evening meal. Things like muffins, pancakes and banana loaf take no time to rustle up and are baked by the time I've finished my meal.
