How successful have you found weightwatchers?

Hi everyone,
I need to lose about 2.5 stone and so have joined weightwatchers. I am really interested in hearing about other people's experiences on it; did you lose weight and I guess most importantly did you manage to keep that weight off?!

Thank you!

Hi there. I lost a stone in about 3 months with weight watchers and can say it certainly worked for me. The thing that helped me most of all was buying their recipe books as I found it hard to plan my own low fat evening meals. The recipes were filling, easy to make and suitable for the whole family. I still cook some weight watchers meals now - which has helped keep the weight off. Good luck.

I lost 22.5 lbs, just over 1 and a half stone in 3 months, having failed to do it by will power alone over the last year.

I have only recently reached my goal weight (9st.12lb) so I can't answer your second question but agree with echops that I have found the recipe books to be really good. Smoked Salmon Linguine and Butternut Squash & Chickpea curry have been favourites so far.

DH has also lost a stone so far as a result of the 'new regime' so I should think we will stick to being a bit more mindful of what we are eating anyway.

I also found the online tracker invaluable - means I don't have to faff about too much working out points values - I can just search the database.

It has cost me a lot of money in new clothes though as I am now a size 12 instead of 14-16.

Good luck!

I've been doing WW for 6 weeks now and have lost 16lbs so far (about another 5 stone to go though!)

I'm actually finding it a lot better than I thought I would. The thing about WW is that it "trains" you to think differently about how/what you eat ie. portion sizes/low fat which means that you should be able to sustain it long term.

I've got a load of WW cook books out of the library and also find the online forum a good source of recipes and ideas.

I've been overweight for so long, but am slowly starting to believe I can actually lost this weight with WW.
