Low Calorie, Low Fat or Low Carb?

I've finally decided to shift the baby weight, and I need to lose two stones in an ideal world, but would be happy with 1 and a half, which I think is a realistic goal.

But, what's the best way? Obv exercise, which I have stepped up a bit, but should I be going for low calorie, low fat or low carbs?

Currently, other than cut out snacking and alcohol, which has lost me a couple of lbs, my diet is pretty normal I think and very varied. Cereal such as shredded wheat for breakfast, sandwich for lunch and dinner in the evening is anything from salad to pasta to meat and veg. Still need to feed the children and DH, so want to follow a diet plan that means I won't be cooking lots of different meals for different members of the family!

Anyone have any advice?!

If you want it to slot in with family life, I think probably soemthing like weight watchers or slimming world would work best (adapting how you cook and focusing on portion control and including some exercise) - that way you dont need to do several different meals a day for different members of the family. Good luck.

You just need to eat less. Honestly. maybe swap the sandwich at lunch for a salad and oatcakes and watch your portions. But you don't need to "do" a diet as such.

Thanks, I'd not actually thought about Weight watchers or slimming world. I'm out in the sticks so unlikely to be able to go to 'meetings', but could probably do an online thing.

And I could swap the sandwich at lunch if I just planned things a bit better.

Thanks for your suggestions!

I do WW online - its pretty good for teaching you about portion control and adapting recipes to make them less calorific (.e.g substituting yoghurt for cream, using spices more etc.).

Thanks Dinky, that sounds just the thing I need, especially if the meals are tasty too and good for the whole family! My DH also needs to loose his 'baby weight' (I think he put on more than I did during my pregnancy!), and this would be a way of cutting both our calories.
