Do you get to a certain weight and then just stick there?

I lost a stone last year. No mega diet, just watching what I ate, cutting down on carbs and exercising more. I got down to a bmi of 23.6 which is great. However, I do have a small frame, and know that really I am about 1/2 stone too heavy for me.
My body seems to want to stick at this weight though. I am doing everything I was doing before, but not losing weight. I have tried cutting back more and exercising more, and I lose two pounds, but despite carrying on, the two pounds come back and I end up back at the same weight.
Do you think there is any hope, or should I just accept I have reached my 'natural weight', even though it is more that I think it should be (my waist is still 30 inches btw)?

I think you have to try something different, change tactics. I have to keep switching diets in order to lose (I have done Atkins, Lighter Life, Celebrity Slim). Some were more successful than others. I have lost 2 stone in the past year and am now about to embark on the Dukan Diet so try and lose another stone. Also try a different form of exercise in order to get things moving again, cyclying is great and you can feel it working right away. Good luck.

What exercise do you do? Add some weight training to your regime and it will help to build some lean muscle which in turn will help raise your metabolism. Interval training rather than 'steady state' cardio can also be good, but weight training for women is seriously under rated.

you have probably reached yuor natural weight, its a bit like all those skinny people who stuff themselves and stay stick thin - because their body sticks at the weight they are meant to be.

Is it worth it - you probably look fab and are a very healthy weight?

I DO want to lose a bit more, just because mu waist size is big in comparison to the rest of me, and that is a risk factor for things like diabetes etc. Losing half a stone would make my body feel right, whereas at the moment it still has chunky bits, despite the 'healthy' bmi figure.

Low carbing certainly worked for me before, and I kind of had a theory that everyone has their own way to lose weight. I had tried low fat diets before but they didn't.

Maybe I should up the exercise and build in some weight stuff then - I will tone up even if the wieght doesn't come off

Thanks!

I don't have any silly goals as I'm old enough now to know my limits. I want to lose a stone and stick to it rather than lose 3 then put it all back on.

what type of resistence trainign do you do? weights etc are good for shifting extra pounds and keeping them off for the long term.

I lost a bit of weight that had crept on with age - i decided to join gym and eat sensibly and lost most of the weight but then took up weights for about 4 months and then over the follwoign summer I lost another 5-6 ibls and have stayed their ever since
