Yes and no. You lose weight when you consume less calories. If by "eat more proteins" you mean high-fat lamb every meal or fried pork, you will not lose weight.

Favor fish, chicken, and lean meat. Eat a bit of pasta/rice/bread with it so you will feel full until next meal. Add steamed vegetables, because feeling full is also about the volume of food you eat. Lay off sauce as much as you can, and use only simple tomato sauce on pasta. Quit fizzy drinks, even those with zero calories like Coke Light.

Protein will help to fill you up and helps to maintain your muscle whilst losing fat. But at the end of the day, your body needs some of everything: protein, carbs and fats. Choose lean protein such as turkey breast, chicken, lean beef and fish, have a smallish serving of 'good carbs' such as wholewheat pasta, brown rice, wholegrain bread, and fill half your plate with a variety of vegetables. You need to make sure you are eating enough calories to lose weight if that makes sense. Many women go on very low calorie diets, do not eat enough protein and exercise as well. They end up losing muscle mass rather than fat and slowing down there metabolism.

Consuming fewer calories than you use up helps weight-loss. If you get your daily calories from a good balance of different foods then you'll be healthy at the same time.

Protein - meat, fish, low-fat dairy products, eggs, tofu, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds etc - are good choices because protein has an appetite suppressant effect. If you make sure you get a little protein with each meal together with plenty of vegetables a little fat and a moderate amount of high-fibre carbohydrates then you can eat fewer calories & be well-nourished without feeling too hungry.

Careful with nuts/seeds, though as some are high on calories. Pine nuts, for example.
