I don't know how much a 3/4 stone is but I need to loose it.
I have no stratergy of a clue for that matter, just thought about cutting out certain foods, reducing portion size and stop with the take aways.
maybe a bit of exercise if I feel in the mood. anyone welcome to join me if they wish.

Me too - more like two stone for me, but one would be something. I'm 12 and a half stone, DS is 8mo now. Just stopped BF so I haven't got the 'I need the extra calories via cake' excuse anymore

I was 10 stone and a size 12 a couple of years ago, I'll probably never be than slim again but the skinny jeans are still in the drawer taunting me!

I wasn't going to follow any regime either other than cut out the naughty stuff and get out and walk more - maybe get myself down the council gym occasionally...??

Has anything in particular worked for you in the past?

sneezecake · 29/03/2010 18:43

nothing much has worked for me because I have no will power I have gone down the line of just not eating anything until my stomach shrinks but its too difficult, and probably not that healthy.
and dh is not so encouraging says the 'well i love you no matter what shape you are'
I'm still BF but is limited to just at night, and I found it never lost me that much weight.
I put on so much weight in pregnancy I felt too ashamed to weigh myself towards the end
I know what you mean anout the pairs of jean in the wadrobe just taunting me I am determined to wear at least some of them again!

Me too! Just marking my place. Will post later.

My DP says that too! Mind you, he's a restaurant chef and cooks everything with butter and cream (and is still as skinny as a twig). I keep telling him he's a feeder I have wrestled control of the stove for the time being and have [[http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/10052/spring-chicken-in-a-pot this] bubbling away as I type.

Hi Besom!

sneezecake · 29/03/2010 19:54

hi besom, the more the merrier. yes dh is a feeder too lol

Hi! I have a 22 month old dd and put on about 4.5 stone when I was pregnant! I still have another stone to lose and hope I can do it before my holiday in June.

My brother is a skinny chef. How do they do that?

Right, I started on my healthy eating plan yesterday. Did not too badly with the low fat meals but I had too many snacks and 2 glasses of wine. Must do better!

Hi there - I just posted this on another thread re losing that last stone... soI'm pasting it here as well...
I can totally sympathise - I am 7months post baby and am almost at pre-preg weight, although I have found that my shape has changed, so it's not just about what the scales say but how I look too.
I have tried no carbs, no carbs after 7, no alcohol etc... all of which help but at my age (34) I need to exercise too. I have tried classes but you eventually plateau, you have to keep pushing yourself to avoid this... so - I can recommend personal trainers, but its expensive, however I have recently discovered a great iphone app by British Military Fitness, it's a personal trainer in your ear and having completed a few sessions with it - I can totally recommend. Obviously if you don't have an iphone/touch you can't use it..... it's called my fitness instructor and is in the app store (apple)

Thanks dinky - I do need a personal trainer to kick my flabby ass but I'm too skint.. I have borrowed a Wii Fit so will give that a go later (with the curtains closed.. )

that recipe link that I linked to (badly) last night was really nice and super-healthy. Good start. I've had porridge for brekkie, some fruit and a home-made soup for lunch made with the (somewhat questionable) contents of the bottom of my fridge.

Unfortunately I did the weekly shop before I decided on the diet and tonight's dinner is carbonara. Oh well..

I might be going back to work soon and then the home made soups will be out of the window so I might try integrating some Slim Fast stuff which has worked quite well for me in the past. Just because it takes the time and brain-work out of calorie-counting and you still get to have a 600 cal dinner.

sneezecake · 30/03/2010 19:52

right I have to start again tomorrow, I had to go into work today, and didn't get time to make anything healthy so went to the canteen, and had a chicken and leak pie with chips but not that as it was lovely. so I'm starting again tomorrow, have got some edible cardboard riveta and some hummas to put on it so that is what I'm living off for the next few weeks, as well as a bit o yoghurt now and then.
also AF is due soon so will be a real test, as I can eat a scabby dog when I'm due on.
must also cut down on the
and I WILL exercise. current wieght X stone 5lb, TARGET X STONE 7lb.
